Whatever the truth about the authorship of the Samson and Delilah it seems clear to us that with a few notable exceptions, only one side of the painting's fascinating story has been heard.
Our aim is to widen the body of visual and historical evidence available on the subject, allowing people to make their own, fully informed, examination and judgment of the painting.
We also hope to open up and make known a debate concerning a nationally owned artwork - a debate that until now has been the domain of a narrow circle.
